يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
“Seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.”
Al-Baqarah 2:153

to be wretched, to be miserable
So those who are ill-fated, are in the fire – they will bray like donkeys in it.
They will say, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate overcame us, and we were the astray people.”
